Rule #6: We Support Our Community
Sarthak Foundation runs programs for children and young people to make them self-sustainable through
education, social-emotional strengthening, and employability skills. 76% of Sarthak’s beneficiaries are
girls, who are the most vulnerable to dropping out of education. We continue to support Sarthak and take
full care of one of the education centers – The Yellow Room. The Yellow Rooms ensures quality early
education to children in the heart of slums all year round. These Yellow Rooms are completely free of cost
to the community and are staffed by two full-time Educators and one full-time Program Coordinator.

Along with the Yellow Rooms, Sarthak also runs two other
programs – Sarthak Gurukuls and Sarthak Slates. These
programs focus on digital literacy, foundational and skills,
gender equality and inclusiveness, Yoga and Health, Socioemotional learning, numeracy and scientific skills, and more.
Sarthak empowers children towards leadership skills and
children-led committees including Swachta (Cleanliness)
Group, Siksha (Education) Group, Sahayak (Helping) Group
and, Animal Management Committee have been
established by their teams.
